Dates: May 28, 2016 – May 29, 2016
This workshop of artistic experimentation, conducted by the Galician filmmaker Miguel Mariño, is aimed at children (10-15 years) and it will be held at Luis Seoane Foundation on May 28 and 29, within the programming of the seventh edition of (S8) Mostra de Cinema Periférico. Attendees will learn to build a handmade projection device from recycled everyday materials. In just three working sessions -that will take place throughout the weekend- each participant will build his own projector which can be taken home at the end of the workshop. They will also learn to use the device allowing them to generate a variety of lighting effects and image qualities.
Finally all members will work on the creation of a joint project that will be shown as the closing of the workshop (Sunday morning May 29) in a session open to the public. Students will have to work on a score / script of the show and design their own staging. A “performance” created collectively as a cohesive element of individual work.
After the experience in conducting different performances based on projection, Miguel Mariño presents this workshop proposal that combines the enhancement of the artistic qualities of each participant and cohesion in a collective experience as the basis of creation. The workshop is not only a guide of materials and methods for the construction of projection devices, but also an invitation to the creation of a collective work that will end with a luminous performance, making visible the result of their work.
Workshop schedule: Saturday May 28, from 10 to 14 and from 17 to 20h and Sunday May 29 from 11.30 to 14h.
Place: Fundación Luis Seoane.
Registration: in advance at the email address [email protected] (limited space).
Although the workshop is free, each participant must provide 10 euros for material to be used in the development of the activity, this fee shall be given to the workshop instructor before the first session.
