Welcome to the second edition of (S8) Peripheral Film Festival. It will take place 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th of June 2011 in the Old Provincial Prison of A Coruña. There are still some weeks off before the event starts but we have decided to tell you something about our “menu”. Firstly, you can watch our first edition movie to know how the (S8) will look like this year.

The third and final issue of the Atlas that is in constant state of transformation, being continuously rewritten. Taking away the dust that prevents us from discovering the periphery of the most archaic maps and, using the centre as a point of reference, we draw a map, which in this case is without a doubt, a treasure map.

In this second stage of our Ilustrated Atlas of the Periphery, we will see how periphery lies not only on the borders but that it can also be found in the underground, in the floating world of the internet, or even in a sausage. We go on drawing the lines of our map.

The periphery of cinema is a territory seldom explored, traversed only by a handful of fearless individuals who attempt to forge new and daring paths to the heart. The Peripheral Film Festival, in its first edition, started an indispensable cartography work, which is shown in these two presentations that we offer you today. Putting the edges on the map, making them sharp and visible. That is a purpose of this Ilustrated Atlas of Periphery. A little guide book just made to invite all those who are ready for an adventure by the most surprising and risky side of cinema. This Atlas has been designed by a chosen team of experts and people who investigate on this field work, and we were so lucky as to have them with us in the first edition of (S8).
